THE HEART BEHIND IRIS ALCOVES
Hey friends! I’m Tara, the owner of Iris Alcoves, Gainesville’s first permanent jewelry studio!
You might remember us as Forever Linked Gainesville. We rebranded and moved into our new studio space last year, and it’s been the sweetest upgrade ever.
After 15 years in dentistry and stepping into motherhood, I stumbled upon permanent jewelry and I’ve been hooked ever since.
When I first discovered it, I wanted to get “linked” myself but couldn’t find anywhere local without booking a party or chasing down a pop-up. That’s when I realized Gainesville needed a permanent, full-service studio for this fun, meaningful experience.
In 2022, I opened Iris Alcoves to create a space for meaningful connections, good vibes, and a little sparkle.
My daily mission is to make sure every person who walks through our doors feels cared for, celebrated, and connected whether they’re here for a solo treat, a girls’ day, or a milestone moment.
At the heart of it all, my “why” is simple: I want to build a place where people can make memories, feel confident in their own style, and leave happier than when they arrived.
When I’m not at the studio, I’m soaking up time with my husband Tony, our daughter Piper, and our newest addition, Aspyn.
This journey has been wild in the best way and I’m so grateful to every customer, friend, and family member who’s supported it.
Iris Alcoves started with me, my husband and a welder, but now it’s grown into the sweetest team of women who share the same heart behind it all. I’m so proud of them, and I can’t wait for you to meet each one below.

Rebecca
Rebecca first discovered Iris Alcoves as a customer in 2023 and joined the team as a helper in early 2025. As someone who grew up in Gainesville, she’s passionate about supporting small, women-owned businesses around town. During the week, she works at UF but on the weekends and evenings she loves spending time in the studio where she gets the chance to connect with people, whether it’s for a special occasion or just to help them find something that makes them feel beautiful and uniquely them.

Kelsey
I first met Tara when she was a vendor at an event I hosted, and from the moment we connected, she saw something in me—my bubbly personality, love for people, and passion for creating experiences. Months later, I joined Iris Alcoves part-time, and it quickly became one of my favorite things to do. I love the social side of meeting new people, the creativity of helping bring their vision to life, and the joy of crafting custom pieces that mean something special. Since March, I’ve been proud to be part of the Iris Alcoves team. When I’m not at the studio, I’m a full-time gymnastics coach, but this work truly feeds my soul.

Hey, Meagan here! Working at Iris Alcoves is my favorite way to spend my Saturdays! During the week, I work for the University of Florida in marketing but Iris alcoves gives me my creative outlet. In my free time, I like painting, drawing, hanging with friends, and doing outdoor activities like kayaking or hammocking.

Hi, I’m Taryn! I’m a proud University of Florida student (Go Gators!) who runs on caffeine, matcha, and a good Pilates session. I absolutely love jewelry and feel so lucky to have the opportunity to design and share unique creations with everyone at Iris Alcoves.

Hi!! I’m Izzy, a student at the University of Florida. I have always loved picking out and styling different kinds of jewelry, and it is so much fun to share that passion with others. One of the best parts of working at our studio is getting to meet with so many amazing people! Outside of that, I enjoy relaxing at the beach and spending time with the people I love most. I feel so grateful to be apart of such a wonderful team here at Iris Alcoves!

“A unique and super cute locally owned jewelry shop! We came here on Valentine’s Day as a romantic, fun activity and we both loved the experience. They went above and beyond to create a romantic atmosphere- with complimentary wine/mimosas/alcohol-free drinks, cupcakes and other snacks, and even gave me a rose to take home in a cute little holder. It truly is the little details like that that make all of the difference!
We took ages to decide what we wanted and they were so patient and answered all of our questions. If you’re looking for a unique experience that can be romantic or family-friendly, have trouble remembering to throw on some jewelry in your daily routine, or just want to support a female-owned business, try Iris Alcoves!
Also I made the appointment online for our session and it was super easy & efficient. Tara, the owner, assisted us herself and she is always so kind and fun.
Side note- repairs are free! So there is really no risk to this is you’re trying permanent jewelry for the first time!
Both of our bracelets are still looking great a month later and we’ve got two crazy dogs that love to play so that’s truly a testament to the quality of their pieces.” -
